Wow! I am very happy to write this review. I am a home teacher and needed a visualizer that was within my budget to use during class so students can see what I am writing on sheets or doing during lab demonstrations. Not wanting to spend too much, I was hoping for the best when I ordered the cheaper IPEVO V4K. Just got it today and tried it. When I plugged it into my Lenovo laptop's USB port, my computer automatically loaded the device driver, so I didn't have to install any software. However, if your computer does not automatically download and install the driver software, the camera has a software website URL, which is printed directly on the base of the camera. After installing the camera software, I opened the camera app on my laptop, selected the IPEVO camera and the camera started working. I used a camera/laptop projector and got an incredibly sharp, well focused image on the wall. I am SO VERY HAPPY with this camera. I was planning on using it for documents but decided to look at other subjects and found that the focus and subject clarity exceeded my highest expectations for a $99 camera! There is a button on the camera which allows you to choose single focus (if you have a static object like a document and don't need to change the object's distance from the camera) or continuous focus (if you're doing a class demo or moving objects, and the distance to the camera). changes). Focusing on moving subjects takes about 3-5 seconds, but once the subject is in focus it is very clear and detailed. Another feature is exposure control. You can increase or decrease the exposure to make the subject more detailed or brighter. The background color affects the exposure. So if I had a black background, my subject (starfish) would be blurry. Using the exposure button to decrease exposure resulted in that the fine details of the starfish were perfectly focused. The back worked well with a white background. You'll probably want to use a higher exposure for documents and a lower exposure for items with detail like seashells. The camera also has a microphone, which will come in handy if I need to do any voice recordings. I haven't tried it with a mic yet. This camera does not have its own light source, but it worked very well in a dimly lit room. Small print was clearly visible and there was no blurring around the letters in the projected image. This camera is every teacher's dream. I can use it for hands-on demos, whiteboards, worksheets, videos, photos, and autopsies. I love the features of this camera and the price was within my budget. I highly recommend this camera. photos and autopsies. I love the features of this camera and the price was within my budget. I highly recommend this camera. photos and autopsies.
