Review on πŸŽ… Bucilla 86648 Jolly Saint Nick Stocking Felt Applique Kit - 18" Long - Festive Christmas Craft by Lori Aguirre

Poor quality materials.

I have made many Bucilla projects including some stockings, a tree skirt and a tapestry. I am always impressed by the quality and variety of Bucilla products, but this one let me down. The sequins in particular are of very poor quality. They are not properly die cut for glitter sequins and are not completely cropped. This will result in severe chipping and flaking of the glitter. In addition, embroidery thread is different from ordinary material. Threads break and become thinner very quickly. The needles are also thin and the wrong size. The beading needle is too small for the included thread and the embroidery needle is too big for the felt. The beading needle is so thin that every time I use it, it bends and I think it's going to break. I use sequins and pins left over from previous projects. In addition, solid and thick lines are applied to the felt, which makes it difficult to cover with the thread provided. Specifically, a backstitch is expected for most embroidery, but solid lines are used for the stamp, so a backstitch cannot be used because it doesn't cover the stamp at all. This is the only Bucilla product I'm not impressed with, so I guess I just have a bad set, but I wanted to warn people. I would give it back if i were to make it for a human family member but it's for one of my dogs and i don't think they would mind ugly sequins πŸ˜… but i wouldn't give it as a gift to a friend or human family member.
