Review on 🔌 Cen-Tec Systems 90660 50 ft Low Voltage Central Vacuum Hose with Button Lock Stub Tube by Will Singh

We have a large house with three central vacuums on each of the three floors. The hose that comes with the 40-year-old Hoover system does about 90 percent of what we need to clean. Annoying, but we put up with it for years and used a shop vacuum for the other 10 percent. We had to carry the hose up and down the stairs so we can buy more hoses and keep one on each floor. At first we thought the 50ft hose was too long and heavy. Because the low voltage hose we purchased does not have high voltage wiring, it is much lighter than Hoover's OEM hose. With a 50-foot hose, the three vacuum points per floor cover the entire home, including corners and ceilings. Two points apply only to vacuuming floors. The tubing material may be slightly thinner or of a different material, so take extra care not to kink or pinch it. While it works well I don't see the need for a suction adjustment feature at the end of the hose. We removed the plastic adapter piece and sealed the hole with tape. Most central vacuums have more powerful suction than standalone vacuums, so think about that before you do what we did. There is a snap on the handle for attaching the attachments, but we found the friction fit attachments met our needs and stayed attached. .Remember this is NOT a power hose so no power tool will work with this hose without a separate power cord. And of course it cannot be used to vacuum up water or liquids. The hose switch turns the central vacuum motor on and off, but not the electric jets. To use them, you need a power hose or a separate 50-foot power cord. Otherwise use nozzles with or without suction. Some commenters point to issues with plastic components. While our original hose is heavier and has survived 40 years of use, the new hose is lighter and appears to be made from a different plastic. I think that careful use and storage of our new hose should provide many years of vacuuming pleasure (if any).
