Makes the Vitamix an ordinary food processor

I was very excited when this product became available. We bought a Vitamix Ascent blender 3 years ago and it is by far the kitchen appliance we use every day. But it had its drawbacks, for some texture products it wasn't very good. One of the things I was looking for in a food processor was ease of dough preparation/kneading, which the Vitamix wasn't good at. The hefty price tag was hard to swallow, but we thought it would expand our cooking and make chores in the kitchen easier during the pandemic. So we ordered it and were very excited. The first thing that struck me when I opened the package was that this thing was huge. While the Ascent canister is large enough, it has a slim profile while being quite cumbersome with all the attachments. Then we tried to make dough in this one, it knocked him out of the park in 20-30 seconds I think. I was very impressed, but the sound bothered me too much. The Vitamix isn't a quiet mixer, but the sound it produces is flat and bearable, while this attachment produces a much louder sound. I measured the sound with my phone with water in a container, a regular blender puts out around 88-90dB while a food processor attachment hits almost 100dB. 45 seconds. It doesn't work well enough with it and makes a bit of a mess. Nevertheless, it can be easily taken apart and put in the dishwasher. Then I tried salsa and found the impulse mode terrible. The stop time is terrible and it takes a bit for the blade to reach top speed and stop. It's not very handy for slicing as it tends to puree food when you don't want it to. You can probably train yourself to handle it, but at this price point it should work just as well as a standalone food processor. Given these shortcomings, it seemed fairly obvious that this should be done. Advertised space savings weren't great, and performance was inconsistent. Eventually the noise was too loud. Then I did a little research and came across the Cuisinart Custom 11 food processor and am very happy with it. It takes up more space than this device, but the performance is better than this. Not to mention I bought it on sale for $120, which is almost half the price of this device. Torque/braking distance is unrealistic at Cuisinart. The Vitamix is the best blender out there, as is the Cuisinart a damn good food processor, this attachment makes the Vitamix an average food processor, but it's not necessary as there are better tools out there.
