Great addition to my LG Gram laptop

This is an accessory that should have been in my laptop! 3 standard USB ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 Ethernet port, USB-C port, standard port and micro SD card reader port. In short, a desktop hub is enough to set up a laptop as a full desktop - with monitors, mice, keyboard and Ethernet (all connected at the same time via the hub). The first thing I checked (and needed) was the ethernet port. I have Spectrum 200Mbps. I connected to the router and ran Ookla Speedtest - the throughput was 219 Mbps for download and 10 for outbound. a little quicker than I expected. The HDMI port allows me to run a THIRD monitor (the first is a laptop monitor, the second is HDMI capable and the HDMI port on the hub offers a third monitor. Pretty cool. I have the USB ports with a mouse and the keyword (Logitech unify) and although the manual says what to use the built in port, the port on the hub worked fine. The card readers work fine, my laptop lacks a large SD card reader so this is definitely a welcome addition to the short it is good quality hub that offers the most common features needed by almost every laptop user it is USB-C so make sure your laptop has a USB-C port, which is powered by a hub so I can't speak to that functionality. My old laptop used USB-C power delivery and I'd be curious if this hub has pass-through power If you are looking to buy this and your laptop is powered coming from a USB-C cable I would ask the seller if this hub supports it.

Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
