These pens are very colorful and bright. They were easy for our young grandson to use to start his painting career. He picks her up easily. The tops are too tight for him to take off, so we have to help him; and that's okay with us. Colored pencils require too much strength and pressure for his initial training, so these pens are a great introduction. After practicing with these pens for a few months, he now also draws with colored pencils on paper. Of course, the handles soil the table, clothes, skin and floor. But they wash off easily.
