As mentioned by other reviewers, the rubber door stops are made of hard rubber and do not stretch easily when cold. However, I got them on in a jiffy by placing them in a pot of water and heating them up. I heated them almost to a boil and then scooped them out with a slotted spoon. I wrapped them in a towel to dry me (don't forget the notch in the middle!) and to insulate and protect my hand. I only did a few at a time (I left the rest in the water to keep warm). Very easy. No need to cut the rim. As soon as they appear, they are perfect. I have made both screw doorstops and ones that fit on the hinges. (Sorry I don't know the brand of my stops but they seem to be standard).
