I was shocked when I put everything back together, it worked really great! It took about an hour of actual work, but I've spent hours looking for a video or tutorial on the 8th Gen Kindle Fire 8 HD to no avail. The tricky part was figuring out how to remove the four screws to pull the motherboard out so the LCD/digitizer cable can run front to back to connect to the motherboard. I've never done anything like this before and it wasn't too difficult. I put together a detailed guide and posted it on the xda-developers forum.
