Review on ⏲️ CDN Heavy Duty Mechanical Timer, Silver, 7" - Reliable and Efficient Kitchen Timer for Precision Cooking by Tim Olson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not difficult, easy. Poor quality for the price

I was so excited when I got my timer today. My little plastic cooker broke last week after years of use. I use a timer (mechanical, not digital) for many things. Looks good at first glance, easy to read but NOT durable. Not a heavyweight, although I think the Amazon picture shows it as a heavyweight. No, that is not so. Its light weight. About the same weight as my old lightweight plastic. Okay, so light and in my opinion (not heavy duty as the title and item description in Revain say) I can live with that, although right now at $11 again I think it's too expensive for a custom simple mechanical timer. but now i have it and i can live with it. So I took it out of the box. Read the instructions. So tested. Set a timer for 5 minutes. Waited waited waited more than 10 minutes. IT IS STILL SET TO 5 MINUTES. . The countdown countdown does NOT work AT ALL. So he turned the dial to zero WHAT IT CALLS FOR. NOT VERY LOUD TO MY EARS AND ABOUT 3 SECONDS. For me and compared to my old plastic mechanical timer which worked for years and was half the price, rang much louder and rang 3 times longer, I wouldn't recommend this timer at all. I am returning a defective product. I'm not saying I recommend or don't recommend it. For me it could be a one-time buggy timer as the countdown simply DOESN'T WORK and therefore cannot be used. How does the quality match the price? The quality doesn't match the price in my opinion. The price is too high. But even if it costs 5 instead of 11 euros + a few cents, it should at least work for the purpose it was created for. It looks very nice, but that's all. I would take a replacement and hope the replacement countdown works but don't want to risk it and also the quality doesn't match the price. I am returning a defective item.
