I use this adapter with an early 2015 Macbook Pro 13" Retina. This review is written 4 hours after installation. I originally had an Evo Plus 970 and don't understand Since the specific SSD isn't supported, I couldn't even partition the drive without panicking and kernel crashes, so I returned the Evo970+ and got a 512GB Patriot Scorch instead, which was half the price. APFS BlackMagic gives me a read and write speed of around 650 -700 MB/s It's not very fast compared to some of the best SSDs but it's a Patriot so I'm not expecting super fast speeds the Macbook seems to be sleeping fine I didn't have a kernel panic or other weird instabilities The only thing that really bothers me is the thickness the adapter adds when the M.2 drive is in the MB is mounted. ase seems to sit about 1-2mm higher than m normally and you can see that there is a slight bulge under the case that houses the SSD. That seems a bit worrying. It would be nice if this adapter was just a short piece that fits between the M.2 connector and the motherboard, rather than a long card. I hope the extra thickness won't cause any long-term damage or shorten the lifespan of the SSD. .
