Review on CARSC Hand Held Vacuum Pump Tester Kit: Automotive πŸ”΅ Vacuum Gauge and Brake Exhaust Set with Adapter and Case (Blue) by Chad Rosier

Poor quality control

Pump failed to hold vacuum on first try. Several cycles of the pressure valve solved this problem. The main problem with this pump is that some parts are missing and the quality control is poor. I ordered two pumps from two different sources, one for $20 and the other for $21. I assumed they would both be identical with different labels, but there were some differences. First, this one came in a nicer custom lined blow molded case compared to the foam cut out in the other. But the main problem is that there is no cylindrical rod under the nut and the piston rod is not centered. It looks like the crank pin was drilled the wrong way, causing the stem to sit too deep in the hole. The problem is that when vacuum is applied it catches on the step in the stem and causes it to "lock up". temporarily until you move it and it frees itself. It kinda sucks when you do it with one hand.
