The oil line to the filter housing was leaking, it has been leaking for years leaving a smell and a wet spot on the floor. I disassembled it and removed the old connection, used it on the male end of the pipe to seal it, bolted it down and it's been bone dry for weeks now. This is the compound you need to seal diesel fuel. Ideal size for many small jobs if you are not a plumber and use it regularly.
