There are two different filters in this range so it's important to make sure you buy the right filter. Replacing the filter is just as important as any other maintenance on the Rainbow E Series vacuum. I've waited too long, but with constant cleaning with an air compressor and flushing the air filter, it's lasted 10 years. However, I wouldn't recommend waiting that long to take a chance, but the point is that it will last for several years with very heavy use.
