These needles are as advertised. They were not quite as smooth as my major brand needles, so I put a little lemon oil on them and rubbed them against each other [like you do with chopsticks] and voila - can't tell the difference from the more expensive brand in smoothness. The cords are "stickier" than other brands - I plan to try using a little powder to see if that smooths out the flow of the yarn. I have noticed some of the points are more "rounded" than others. I may take fine sandpaper to one to test if I can sharpen those points. Overall a great value for someone who likes to have a complete needle wardrobe to take up new projects spontaneously.
