I have also bought several different models of this digital corner device.This and more Don't Block!. The grip tightens and increases resistance slightly, but does not lock. The corner moves even when locked. This one lingered harder than the other. I used a dremel to cut the grooves on the handle deeper to increase the degree of tightening and loosening. This helps for some. The edges are very sharp! They are uncomfortable to hold in hand. There are also four sharp steps that act like little hooks as you transition from a straight edge to a rounded one. You can catch your skin. I rounded the edges with a 1000 grit diamond sharpener. I removed the steps with a 400 grit diamond sharpener. This took five minutes and made working with the tool more comfortable. The case of this model is very beautiful. The arms are not 8 inches but 7 inches.
