I often use these with different sized pots and they are very useful. The lip on the inside overlaps the pot to reduce spills and the clips hold tight enough. I find this works better on larger pans as the small strainer sponge curves to fit smaller ones, but just a little care goes a long way to avoid spilling all over the place. They then clean perfectly in the dishwasher and take up less space than my full size colanders. Of course they don't replace full size colanders as they have many uses, but just for straining pasta, cooked veggies or the like they are great.
