Review on πŸ’‘ Anmbest Constant Current CC CV Buck Converter Module - 1.2-36V 20A 300W Power Supply with Short Circuit Protection by Ricky Rey

Be very careful when tightening the screws!

I have several of these buck converters. I use them to power cameras and infrared sources in the forest. I feed them 40 volts with 16 or 18 gauge wire. I found the biggest problem was not over tightening the connecting screws. They are poorly attached to the circuit board. I wanted to make sure I had a good connection as they are fixed to trees in weatherproof boxes and access to them is not the best. On the second, I used the terminal block, which immediately unscrewed. When using jewelry screwdrivers, it is difficult to apply a lot of torque! Another problem I had was with the current limit circuitry on one of them. No matter how I set it, it worked at about 2 amps. Every time they tried to turn on the IR illumination at night, the camera would crash. Then I realized that I had to restart the device by turning off the power. Solved by replacing it with another.

Pros
  • Anmbest buck converter, input voltage range is 6-40V DC, adjustable output voltage range is 1.2-36V DC, can be used to convert 24V to 12V 5V, adjustable output current range is 0-20A, the maximum output power is 300W. A buck regulator can be used for constant output current.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
