I bought this to replace an OEM latch I used to replace and it lasted about 3 years. I thought it was quite a short time so I chose this device thinking it might last longer. Not correct! It stuck closed after 6 weeks and was very difficult to open before. There is no doubt that the position of the latch makes the design poor, especially in the North East where water and salt can get in, but replacing this assembly only to have it work for 6 weeks was a huge waste of time. Don't worry if you live in an area where road salt is used. If you are in a dry climate this may be fine. The only reason it gets two stars instead of one is that initially it worked well and seemed to fit well.
