Not sure if he is talking about USB Power Delivery protocol to provide more power. The connector itself is non-directional and more durable than the micro-USB connector used in some other cases. A full-size USB-A will also work for my purposes, but USB-C is probably better for the future. I bought a StarTech USB31AC1M and this combination works well. * Please note that the power adapter is NOT included. (And that you need an unusual size.)
