Even with the high octane on the pump, I still got valve rattle under hard acceleration on my 2016 Harley Roadster 1200 airbox configuration with V&H Short Shots with quiet bulkheads. The Conoco was better than most high-end fuels, but I still heard the rattle under hard acceleration. I decided to try an octane booster. I could get a 10 ounce dose for 2.95 and found out what the heck. I have a 3.3 gallon tank so when I fill up I put 2.5 ounces in. The engine idled differently (rounder) and the exhaust sound was also a few decibels quieter (don't ask me why). I took it to a higher altitude and ran it with more acceleration to see if it would cause chatter and it ran very powerfully and quietly. Towards the end of the test run I only heard a hint of chatter, not like the rumble I had previously. It was so bad I considered installing a fuel manager. I don't know how much it increased the octane but I'll keep using it as it doesn't hurt. I use 0.66 ounces per gallon which seems to help.
