I don't know why others are saying it took so long to install. It took me, a 24 year old female, about 20 minutes from the crate to playing with the cats. (Maybe I have a better guide?) The downsides are that the boxes aren't that big. My adult cats fit in, yes, but I was expecting them to be an inch or two taller. My older cat likes to sit on top and the platforms are big enough. Our kitty loves the mouse toy and hasn't put it down yet. He's been pulling and tugging at it for about 4 hours now. (though the older cat can take it off more easily, I'm not sure, my old boys are lazy! haha) Neither of them are used to the scratching post, either, but they seem to be doing pretty well. All around a great apartment for cats/tree.
