I'm the worst slicer in the world. If you want a slice of what I bake, you'll either get a triangular slice or a slice that's too thin to lift. I knew I needed a product like this. The reviews for this product scared me. After reading the reviews for this product, I searched for a different bread slicing guide. I would take anything but that. But I couldn't find anything that suited my needs. Everything I found was either discontinued or had other issues. I was so desperate that price no longer mattered. I then read the review stating that the reviewer tried the product despite the negative reviews and liked it. So I ordered the product with the intention of just trying it out. I learned a thing or two from the reviews I read and used them as soon as I got the Norpro 370 Bread Slicing Guide. I glued and screwed the acrylic guide to the wood. I used my 10" serrated bread knife. I have a 6" x 4" bamboo cheese cutting board that I rest on pine slats so my knife doesn't cut and ruin the jaws. WOOOO HUT! It turned out gorgeous! The Cuts are perfect! Even the crumb looks like it came from a bakery when sliced evenly. I can customize the slices by cutting every notch, every other notch, or moving the bread so the knife matches the notch geared to produce any size you want. Love it and so glad I tried it. This product is great for bread, quick bread and buns. When you can't cut evenly or want your slices to be even I recommend this product I have posted some photos I hope this helps you to decide.
