We have good standard blinds but we have a new baby and they didn't let in enough light to sleep in the nursery. We first got quotes on custom window treatments ($4,000) and then settled on a good $2,000 big box option. Huge production, go to the store and choose options, then they send you samples, then someone has to come to measure, two months to put the curtains on, and they screwed up with the length, they have the light not let through and it wasn't as nice at the window as in the directory. So we sent it back and ordered the $50 Changeshade Blackout Shades. Two days later they were here, took two screws and ten minutes to install, completely blocked the light and look pretty good for the money. Highly recommended for anyone who doesn't want to break the bank or just needs something in a hurry.
