Review on Tromner Neurological Reflex Hammer With Needle And Brush - Essential Tool For Nurses, EMS, Medical Students And Emergency Room For Accurate Neurologic Reflex Diagnosis And Testing By QIYUN In Black by Don Olsen

Clinically Irresponsible to Use

I am a resident physician and needed a reflex hammer that I could easily carry around with me in the hospital. This hammer is lightweight and small enough to fit into my pocket, but it is not weighted properly and feels a bit flimsy, to the point where I cannot evaluate the results of my reflex exam with certainty. This means that this hammer is useless, and using it would be irresponsible to my patients. I strongly recommend against the use of this hammer. I am going to buy a larger, properly weighted one, so that I might know with greater certainty whether I am able to elicit reflex responses during my exams.

Pros
  • Good value for the price. A little lighter than I would like but hard to complain at the price point.
Cons
  • The needle and brush attachments on the Tromner Neurological Reflex Hammer can be difficult to maneuver and may pose a risk of injury to patients during reflex testing

Looks similar to the one I needed to replace (rubber tips fell out). Is OK for occ''l use but is 1 oz lighter ( 2.7 vs 3.7 oz) which makes a noticeable non-positive difference.
