I had a lot of extra HDMI cables that were about 6 feet long, but I needed a few longer ones to install my new TVs. I didn't want to buy extra cables so I got these connectors to plug in the extra cables I already have. I was pretty sure they wouldn't switch off. I don't run anything like 4k 60hz or 3D through them so I can't comment on how well they handle those signals. I don't see any problems with my 1080p applications.
