Struggled with the hum from the subwoofer for some time. The subwoofer is powered by the Monster Power Center AC adapter but still has significant ground loop hum. An additional ground loop isolator has been added. It does not work. Assign a separate AC circuit to the sub (didn't help). I tried the Blue Jeans isolation transformer and it worked, but it changed the phase of the signal to the subwoofer and it was hard for my ear to hear. As a last resort, I replaced the wrong high-end subwoofer with a double-shielded Blue Jeans LC-1 interconnect cable, and voila, the hum was gone. The fact that the shielded cable solved the problem suggests that my problem wasn't the AC ground loop, but rather the hum caused by other ambient magnetic fields. The connection I replaced was shielded, but with only one layer of shielding. Obviously a two layer shield was required in my case. Thank you Blue Jeans for a great product and phenomenal return policy (for isolation transformer).
