I took this EMPTY mug and the water spilled out. Focus? No! Water flowed from the lower part, where it separated from the upper part along the seam. The water must have seeped into the bottom of the mug while it was sitting in the sink. Even a small amount of water on the bottom creates a lot of steam pressure in the microwave, resulting in complete separation of the seam. This mug needs to go in the microwave. Other reviewers had the same issue (bottom part is disconnected). Quality control problem! A NOTICE. I bought an almost identical mug from BX 15 years ago. One BIG difference: the inside of my old mug is as smooth as glass. The inside of YOUR mug is like sandpaper (a great hiding place for bacteria). I LOVE my old mug. I used it every day! Haven't found the same high quality (ie smooth inside) yet. I don't know if this mug is supposed to be smooth on the inside. I have 4 of these in different colors. None of them are smooth inside.
