Review on Mayflash F300 Arcade Joystick Switch by Jason Porter

I bought it because I wasn't sure if I would like this type of control or if it would help me enjoy fighting games after years of avoiding them: I was wrong on both counts and regret buying this instead of one with arcade quality parts. As it is, the controls just didn't feel precise enough after I started enjoying fighting games more. It's cheap though, so modding with a Sanwa joystick and buttons was a viable choice for me. I really don't recommend buying this just to mod if you don't appreciate it and the parts are cheaper than the best stick: if it's about the same price as the best stick you just have to pick the color of your joystick and buttons without the possibility of further customization with art (aside from the sticker option of dubious quality and durability) and cheap joystick modding settings that you may have tried later. I modified this joystick with: TP-8YT joystick (with 1mm oversized KOWAL actuator, GT-Y Octo Gate, 2 lb mainspring, FA.DAB .20 oz Shin-Etsu silicone grease) $6.95 - ALU Series Aluminum Ballhead $5.95 - ALU Series JLF Well/Dust Collector Set $19.60 - 8 Sanwa OBSF 30mm knobs $2.25 - 1 Sanwa OBSF 24mm knob Button wiser I would buy GT-Y Octo Insert instead of GT-Y Octo Gate which would have saved me $3.50. The aluminum racquet head, stem and washer were the luxury items I wanted: I would have saved $7.40 on plastic. Again, I'd just buy something better as price wasn't really an issue other than being afraid to shell out around $150-$200 if I didn't like that style of control.
