Review on Black Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Professional Grade Studio Monitor Headphones with Detachable Cable - Critically Acclaimed by Gabriela Handwerker ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable purchase, guaranteed to be a good purchase.

I will use two years. Everything is in wonderful shape. I will only point out a few faults, but hopefully it will be of some value to someone. 1. Working in them for an extended period of time can cause your ears to become fatigued, pain in the ear cartilage, and physical exhaustion. In the beginning, it was quite uncomfortable to work in them, but as time went on, they improved. For this reason, I would rather recommend the DT 990 PRO for extended work (they are open). 2. The frequency response is good for such a low price, but it is important to keep in mind that the bass is slightly overestimated around 100 Hz, the drawdown is at 300-400 Hz, and the high frequencies of 9-10 kHz are slightly overestimated. The drawdown is at 300-400 Hz. If you require an honest sound for mixing, I highly advocate employing calibration; nevertheless, I do not encourage mixing with your ears. 3. I attempted to take them out for a walk, but when you do that while wearing headphones, the sounds of the moving elements of these headphones strain your ears. For those who have the financial resources to do so, I would recommend the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO (open type) headphones for working in headphones over an extended period of time. Working within them is getting easier and easier. Also with regard to calibration)

Pros
  • High volume is offered even on the phone, the build quality, the sound quality, and the equipment are all excellent (since low resistance)
Cons
  • - It is uncomfortable to sit in them for lengthy periods of time - The ear pads are not very large
