I suspect the manufacturer is shredding and adding more salmon bones to the mix. The "pie" is much drier than last year and often crumbles noticeably. My cat refuses about half of the cans and throws tiny, hard, inedible bits out of her bowl, creating a circle of hard crumbs outside of her eating area. She must be incredibly excited, but she does it carefully, trying to find the edible parts. I've stocked up in preparation for a pandemic shortage in the supply chain and I'm stuck with this junk.
