up close it looks fake and it scared me as someone who equates artificial plants with bad taste and has never been decorated with artificial plants. However, when I'm sitting in the corner of my house, I really enjoy looking at it because it does exactly what I wanted: it transports me to the jungle and gives nature a peaceful feel. (Ignore the background in my photos, I've placed it in a messy, cluttered side room for quick photos before deciding how to incorporate it into my actual home.) It's not perfect, but it works. The shape is a bit awkward. It won't work anywhere because some leaves will go too far in one direction without being balanced by branches going the other way. If it is rotated ONLY at the right angle, it looks fine. But you can't turn it arbitrarily. And that's probably a by-product of shipping it loose in the box. A tweed base sheds a lot, but as long as you don't move it a lot it will shed spikes and flatten out to a few strands and fibers here and there. Overall I like this plant, even if I sound negative. It convinced me that you could spice up your interior with a few artificial plants without looking like crazy Aunt Naideen.
