Works well but requires some patience for initial setup

I am a professional photographer specializing in car photography and videography. Products but instructions can often be missing or complicated at best. It was no different. First impressions upon unboxing is a nice reusable rigid foam case which should help keep it safe and protected when traveling and tossing along with other camera gear. The gimbal itself was about the size I expected - handy and portable, but not exactly pocketable. I took out the instructions and started reading them, even though my intuition was just trying to figure it out for myself. The included instructions weren't quite as clear - and of course I've never installed a gimbal before and the balancing process is quite specific and needs to be done in a specific order. I've used it with my Sony RX100 MkVII - and it comes with multiple connection cables to connect almost any device to the gimbal's USB-C port via the camera's native port. This allows you to operate the shutter button and other camera controls using the inputs/buttons on the gimbal's grip. All cables are individually marked with the connector type. It took me a while to set up the balance and connectivity on the gimbal - I also had to download an app to my phone, which then forced me to update the gimbal's firmware (with a reboot after each one). Once I got everything set up (again it took a few hours. This was my first time installing a stabilizer so I think if you had done it earlier with a similar product you could have done it quicker) it was play at the time. The gimbal handled the weight of the RX100MkVII well - the weight was great - it would be fantastic for someone covering an event (car show I thought) and with a quick button that lets the camera rotate to take a selfie video ( or Vlog) ), very easy to use. It's very portable and offers up to 9 hours of use on a single charge (probably depending on how "active" you are with it and how well balanced your camera is). The menu structure on the small 1-inch square display is easy for me to understand but doesn't really require much complexity. It has options for "Start" mode, a fun feature that lets the camera rotate around the axis of the lens for creative shots. "Portrait" mode, where the camera switches to portrait mode, and then there's a slow motion mode. I found the slow motion mode interesting and fun - you set the start and end points for the slow motion and depending on the time, the setting is set via the application, it slowly moves from start to finish and takes photos at the set interval of the application. Bottom line - love that feel - it's solid but not too heavy or bulky - all controls feel nice The RX100 sized camera runs very smoothly - I've tried putting my A7 R3 on it but it can't support in EVERY WAY. I also put my iPhone on it and found it very effective on the iPhone as well (after re-balancing the gimbal). The included instructions are very rough - if you go to the FeiyuTech website, you can find and download a longer and much more useful version of the instructions that will help you better understand the menu structure, usage, calibration and follow modes. Too bad I didn't look for it when I first started - it would have saved me time setting it up. The movements were very good and definitely added a professional touch to the final product. With the included tripod stand, it's easy to set up on a table and take time-lapse shots, or just shoot videos on a gimbal with a stable base. I have a small issue with the rubber cover that comes out of the charging port - even if you have fingernails it's very difficult to open - if they put a little tab or tab on it to make it easier to grab it would solve the problem.
