I bought this USB 3.1 adapter because I couldn't get the Oculus Link cable to work with my computer's USB ports. My computer has USB 3.0 ports, but the driver is not compatible with Oculus. It took some research to understand this. Anyway, Windows recognized the device as soon as I installed the hardware. My computer doesn't have a CD drive so I went to the website to download the driver. I found the relevant driver on the website and when I clicked the download button nothing happened. Nothing downloaded. I tried several times but I could not load the driver. Then I went to Windows Device Manager and saw that it was detected. I checked for the latest driver using Windows and got a notification that the device has the latest driver. So I finally connected my Oculus Quest 2 and successfully tested the connection cable. Now I can finally use Oculus Link with my PC. The description says the device can power devices, but that's not the case as my Oculus wasn't charging when I plugged it in. The manual also states that you need to connect a SATA cable from the PSU to the board, but there is no space on the board to connect a SATA cable. So I'm not sure what's going on there. I'm reasonably happy with this USB 3.1 board. I recommend buying, comparing and reading reviews before making a final purchase decision. If anyone knows how to get the board to output power please let me know.
