- I made a short video so you can hear the ticking and also the buzzer. First, understand that these manual timers cannot give you absolutely accurate times. So if that's what you're looking for, this isn't a good choice. I like the manual kind because the digital ones are so damn annoying with their shrill alarms that don't stop until you press something. I've had an old-fashioned, handcrafted brown for over thirty years, and it only recently broke for good. This mifuner works well for the most part, but can be buggy (pretty moody). Several times the buzzer just didn't work. It seems to happen more at shorter time settings. The instructions say to spin the timer wheel forward to the max time and then back to the desired time, but it works if just spin it straight ahead for any amount of time, as long as it's longer than ten minutes (approximately). For example, if you set it back five or even ten minutes all at once, the timer might not buzz, requiring you to go back for those shorter periods of time. I don't like the inconvenience of having to spin the wheel forward and then back; I didn't have to do that with my old one. The tone of the buzzer and the duration of the tone are inconsistent. Sometimes it starts and then just shuts off. In other cases, it is strong and longer-lasting. Then sometimes strong, but very briefly. I like the size and shape of the body. It's easy to spin the wheel. The timer clicks are not too loud. I like the extendable stand. If it wasn't for the inconsistency I would have given 5 stars but in a timer consistency is very important. I'll update here after using it for a few more weeks; It can improve, in which case I will increase the rating.
