Review on Intel Unlocked Skylake Processor BX80662I76700K by Stanisaw Lipowski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

I ran it on the bus using a Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 DDR3 motherboard, which is a budget model. Only version 4.25 was released, which was suitable for stable work. When version 4.30 was installed, the computer continuously shut down with a blue screen. This did not sit well with me, so I made the decision to bring it down to 4.25, and ever since then, there have been no issues. It can be used with the Thermaltake SpinQ VT cooler and does not get hotter than 70 degrees Celsius under full load. This is particularly impressive given that the cooler is not particularly effective at overclocking despite its size. Temperatures were reduced by a couple of degrees on the Zalman CNPS10X Optima.

Pros
  • - The processor, which is made of silicon like other processors, is capable of running all modern games in 2022 at the highest possible settings (after overclocking the bus to 4.25 GHz).
Cons
  • If it weren't for the thermal paste inside the lid, the possibility for overclocking would be significantly higher. Well, of course, this is thermal paste. After more than 1.7 years of operation, there was no noticeable change.
