Review on πŸ”† INSTEON Keypad Dimmer Switch: Dual-Band, 6-Button, Light Almond - Innovative Lighting Control Solution by Julian Perkins

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ideal for adding a fan and light to a single pole switch assembly.

Great flexibility and functionality. It wasn't initially clear to me that you could set this switch without tying it to the light you're controlling. For example, you install it in connection with the power supply connected, but without connecting the lead wires. With the hub you can program smart devices such as Insteon lamps (INSTEON 2672-292 LED lamp) and Insteon Fanlink (Insteon 2475F FanLinc). This allows you to control multiple lights and a fan where there was only one switch. Example: I had 3 pendant lights in my living room, all on the same switch. I wanted to replace the center with a fan. There was no place to blink. By installing this Insteon 2334 switch (connected to power and ground but not to the lead wire), all three devices (2 lamps with Insteon bulbs and a fan with Fanlink) got power. Programming the hub and the 2334 gives you a switch (and app) that can independently control the fan and backlight. I programmed it to turn on/off or dim up or down with the main on/off buttons. The fan is controlled with the remaining 4 buttons. With the additional fan button kit (INSTEON 2322-382 FanLinc button kit for KeypadLinc), the installation looks very neat and professional. Works great and no additional remote is required to control the fan.
