Review on 🚿 Moen T471 Chateau Single Handle Tub and Shower Trim, Chrome - Enhanced with Single Function Showerhead for Exceptional Bathing Experience by Aaron Gonzalez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Warning - not included with shower valve stop tube

Overall, this is a worthy replacement for the Moen single handle that controls both volume and temperature . The main problem** is that the shower valve stop pipe is not included. This is important because the stop pipe runs between the shower volume/temperature control and the panel. In other words, you must have this part. So when I installed this kit I had to stop what I was installing, visit two hardware stores and look carefully for this "one piece" (shower valve stop tube) and it costs $7.89 (each). I needed two because I bought two bath and shower sets. Moen should include this part in the kit. Ridiculous to refuse! Hence 3 stars for this question. The rest of the set is decent, and yes, the spout on the tub is "plastic"! I noticed this was mentioned in other reviews. I don't mind a plastic spout because I think I'll replace this kit again if the hard water in my area ruins it. vicious circle. **************** UPDATE BELOW: October 11, 2018 **************** I have replaced the plastic tub spout with a metal one (also a Moen product). I had an issue with one of the plastic spouts not working properly in the o-ring and set screw area, causing a leak from the rear. I wasn't happy with the leakage issue so I went ahead and bought a higher quality spout. I will say that the rest of this kit is fine despite the extra cost. I mean if you separate or price each individual part it still costs more than what I paid for this chrome set. In addition, the shower head offers a good constant flow of water with good water pressure and the single-action handle works well. If this changes, I will update this review accordingly. I'm leaving it at 3 stars for now because "maybe" my 20 year old copper pipe played a role in the o-ring and set screw issue. The condition of the pipeline is critical to installation, not to mention cleaning and lubricating the wearing part. Ugh, plumbing! It's great when everything works and a nightmare when it doesn't!
