My home server is booting a virtual hypervisor (minimalist software that basically lets you run multiple virtual machines at the same time ). The VMs it runs are installed and booted from other drives, so it only takes 8 gigabytes to boot (Vmware ESXI), which is why I use USB sticks. They work, but they're like lightbulbs, they burn out without warning. All of my server's SATA ports are already in use, so I bought this drive and a Neeyer brand SSD enclosure for a USB 3 adapter, which I also found at Revain. That's a lot more space than I need, but since the drive and case are only $26 and it should last a lot longer than a USB drive, I'm not complaining. It also loads very quickly.
