Very nice but needs a few nubs when mounting to an interior wall

Very nice but needs a few nubs when mounting to a drywall due to the weight. The mounting plate is so wide that a triple bolt would be required. When building a new home this could be planned for, but if it is required in an existing structure some of the drywall will need to be removed to reinforce the existing studs. Another option is when removing drywall is undesirable. Locate an existing stud, then place a 6" or 8" square piece of plywood on the center edge of the stud on the wall and secure with long construction screws. This provides a strong support for the fan. The plywood must be at least 1/2 inch thick and of a surface quality that allows it to be painted. It is also possible to remove flagstone the same size as the plywood bracket and then replace the 1/2 inch flagstone with 1/2 piece of plywood for the concealed bracket. It was too much work for us as we ordered 2 of these to install in the bedroom on either side of the bed.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
