. I purchased this item to remove dirt from my camcorder lens and found it to do the job very well. The texture of the microfiber is pleasant to the touch - a little pearly, but soft and structured. It was easy to use, I just wiped the lens in a circular motion. Mods with slight pressure and finally the wreck disappeared. (Some fingerprints and what looks like a scratch but isn't) The packaging is of somewhat poor quality. It comes in a plastic bag that needs to be ripped open from the bottom to get the fabric out. However, this leaves residue of glue which then sticks to the fabric and has to be torn off, making those areas of the fabric look physically different - I would say a bit rough. This is a poor design as the packaging says to keep the fabric in the bag when not in use to avoid contamination so I used scissors to cut the bottom of the bag to remove any remaining glue. Haven't machine washed it yet but so far it's working fine. After all, it's just a cheap glasses cleaning cloth.
