I wasn't expecting much when I bought this 2 years ago but for the price this bag is fantastic. It's the perfect size for me, both in terms of size and capacity, and it's been pretty durable. I've used it for frequent day hikes of 4 to 15 miles for two years. If there isn't enough water in the 2L reservoir, the side pockets make it easy to add extra water, and the multiple pockets come in handy for organizing all my stuff. It's also easy to adjust the straps for a comfortable fit depending on my clothes and what I'm wearing. I'm a relatively small person (5'5" and athletic) so I'm not entirely sure how well this bag would fit someone significantly taller. However, the straps adjust quite a bit, so I guess that it will be fine.for the majority of people.I often hike to relatively remote areas so I usually carry around essentials that I may not use.a poncho, some ropes and essentials without a large bag It's not big for a backpack (of course) but it's a good size for day trips.Having used it extensively for two years, the only thing I've had so far has been a mouthpiece for the hydration system to replace. You can get a small pack of replacement parts at Walmart for a pretty low price So far the bladder and hoses have had no leaks and work reasonably well The hose is not insulated so if the temp is below the freezing point and you don't drink often, water can freeze in the mouthpiece/hose. However, this was to be expected. The zippers and buckles still work. One of the mesh pockets ripped once, but I sewed it up. The hydration system is detachable, so the hydration system and backpack are safe as long as you clean and care for them. I feel a bit ridiculous for being so smitten, but I really like this bag. I have recommended it to several friends. If you are looking for a day trip bag, this is a good choice.
