These are very tiny dainty earrings. I read that they are cartilage hoops, but the pictures show them worn on the earlobes. They fit on my lobes fine, but because they are so small, the posts are curved and I had a lot of trouble getting them in. I don't have any issues with straight posted earrings. They clamped together fine and you have to push them together to click them closed or they will fall open on their own. They are really cute though and very subtle. We are headed to the House of Mouse later this year and I plan to wear them there. Because these are huggie earrings, they don't have any posts to poke you when you sleep and should be comfortable. The description for the material is very confusing. They are silver toned. They may be gold plated with a white gold, but there's no way for me to confirm this.
