Review on πŸ” Motorcraft FL-820-S Oil Filter: Top-rated Performance and Superior Filtration by Jaie Bobin

No dry start!: Replacement parts

Motorcraft oil filters are among the best offers. For a little over $3 you just can't buy a better oil filter. It has a unique design that ensures you don't have a dry start. It lacks synthetic fiber filtration compared to $10-$20 oil filters, but that doesn't matter if you switch your oil to synthetic after about 5000-8000 miles. I would not recommend an oil change with this filter for longer mileage. Changing the oil after 3,000 miles is a waste of precious oil and your money. It doesn't matter because by using Motorcraft oil filters you are extending the life of your engine by reducing the number of dry starts. Compared to the orange Fram (Bank of Death) oil filter, which is about the same price, this filter is light years ahead of oil filtration and engine wear.
