Never worked with my computer

Got this as a Christmas present. The USB A side was defective. The Lightning connector side was fine. As long as I put the files on the micro SD card, my iPhone was able to read the files without any problems. When I tried to add files to the micro SD card using a Windows or Mac computer with the micro SD card inserted, none of my computers could write to the card. Windows kept saying the card needs to be formatted and then unable to format it. OS X just couldn't see the map. Naztech support almost charges the cost of the device itself for postage and warranty claims, giving the support zero stars.
