I should have known from some poorly rated reviewers that it was underpowered and wouldn't be able to get the heat my hair needed. I had to listen to my inner cynic. But I really wanted to believe the lucky reviewers because I was leaving the country lightly and really wanted such a small thing. Luckily I checked it before leaving. It can't do what I need my hair to do. Yes, it warms. It will probably get hot enough to burn your hand. Not suitable for thick hair. I don't have long hair. My hair reaches my earlobes. But the stove and the temperature on this device are not enough for me. i left it at home I'll probably take it to Goodwill and remember to listen to the little voice in my head when it warns me.
