Review on ๐ŸฅŠ RDX Boxing Hand Wraps Inner Gloves: Quick 75cm Long Wrist Straps for Maximum Protection by Keith Alvord

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor replacement for traditional bandages.

The purpose of traditional martial arts bandages is to ensure correct wrist position and protect the ankles. These wraps do neither. First, velcro doesn't fit. The loop portion is too short to accommodate the hooks, causing the strap to hang heavily. I fixed this by securing the strap with tape like I do with traditional bandages. Once secured, these wraps do nothing to prevent excessive wrist movement. As shown in the figure, significant abduction and adduction is allowed, which should not be the case. Sufficient flexion and extension is also allowed, which is also inappropriate. The neutral position of the hand with properly applied bandages should have significant flexion at the metacarpophalangeal joints (your fingers should be approximately 90 degrees with respect to the hand). As you can see from the picture, this does not apply to this product. Proper bandages should have padding covering the ankles. With this product, the pad instead rests on the back of the hand and offers no protection. This product can cause serious injury if used in a manner similar to traditional hand wraps. Conclusion: Avoid!
