Pros: VERY Sony, same controls as other WX series cameras, slightly larger than more modern WX cameras, quick first photo capture the moment the shot is taken (standard 24mm equivalent at 16-megapixels, with typical Sony 'soft' pixels, but there are plenty of these and they print great, even heavily cropped), then you can go for the second and subsequent shots if needed zoom in for the full-resolution in-camera cropped photos (and you can always crop later in post, 16-megapixels is a lot to start with). Great multi-frame compilations for still night shots or special effects (hurl your camera in the air or move it in multi-layer mode for amazingly sharp effects) and fast panorama access, including high-resolution 10,480 x 4,096 pixels = 42 megapixel panorama. -- I NEED to find my own sturdy tripod that rotates smoothly as I keep having "gaps" in my horizons) -- this is Sony's 4th, I love the WX series, it was the old W series too basic and nondescript in comparison, and barely cheaper, and the features and benefits, controls, etc. match my Minolta Sony Alpha Mount camera, so I feel right at home. .Cons: No digital zoom beyond 5x - I would have preferred in-camera digital cropping to at least 10x - the resulting 8 megapixels is still plenty - we "view" our photos at only 2 megapixels "HD". " anyway slideshow on our computer and TV screen (and reduce file size, disk space and loading time with JPEGmini -- I should also remember to write a cropping script to split each image into 9 separate image files with 2 megapixel resolution - - top left, middle, right, middle left, middle, right, bottom left middle, right - for extended slideshows with cropped surprises since we all have too many pixels that we don't enlarge) that this camera doesn't have a 10x digital zoom Wow. Great camera.. Background: Years of happy experience with Minolta, Olympus and Panasonic/Leica superzooms, they are all great, Sony chips and features/benefits set to your liking just superior.
