Single Player: Rating ***PROS: Black Ops 2 once again does a great job of creating a cinematic experience that blends real characters with fictional creations. I mean, it almost tastes like lovebirds. The engaging storyline and the ability to dictate what happens in the game based on your actions are a plus and give the game good replay value alongside the challenges and information you can gather. I also like the addition of affordable futuristic gear and weapons. This way you can compare the results with your friends to show your rights in an additional game category. CONS: It's buggy. I had to restart the Time and Fate mission because the characters wouldn't move forward after I got everyone out of the bell tower. Other times, you'll have to activate the AI to move on to the next element, as it seems like it's waiting for something to happen. The AI is also mediocre at best. I played this game on Veteran and was very frustrated that I can step through sections of many maps almost like Rambo. Also, enemies will appear out of nowhere behind you after clearing some areas; They don't even come out the door or run away, they just show up. The Strike Team missions were initially very promising, but they are fairly easy to defeat and leave a lot to be desired. The idea is very good, in fact the game combines the military-strategic thinking of World in Conflict or Starcraft with the ability to play in the first-person perspective for each of the units you control and switch between them during combat. I could send all the personnel to the target point, and then I would play as a soldier and shoot everyone. MULTIPLAYER: ** BENEFITS: The ability to choose up to 10 options for your class is a welcome improvement. Playing cards is great fun and there is something for everyone. The killstreak rewards are impressive and continue the greatness of early Black Ops. CONS: NO DEDICATED SERVERS! This is IWNET 2.0. Just let the server pick random people and shuffle them together. I'm having a hard time getting a good ping. Why is it so difficult to provide a dedicated server for PC gamers? The wheel does not need to be reinvented. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just to be clear, I knew before pre-ordering that the game didn't have dedicated servers, but I also knew their multiplayer system would be better than IWNET. If you've chosen your environment for yourself, you're really ruining the experience of all the extra things you can do with this Black Ops release. Nuketown 2025 is NOT a permanent map. I was led to believe the card was included when you pre-ordered a copy. Nuketown 2025 was fun and playable, but only within a week of launch. If Treyarch had made it clear that this was the case, I wouldn't have had to order this game again. I think it's pretty deceptive to pull a card out of thin air. ZOMBIES: ****PROS: TRANSIT! This is a HUGE map where the player explores 5 bus stops. The new elements in this zombie iteration are that you have a BUS as a means of transport and you have the opportunity to play in 5 different environments. Additionally, there are plenty of buildable weapons and Easter eggs that intertwine and require players to explore every inch of the world for maximum survivability. Another thing I love is the ability to migrate hosts when a crying player comes out of anger. in the middle of a game because he/she is too weak to play a zombie and keeps dying. Leaderboards are also a welcome addition. Now is your chance to see where you stand among other people around the world. It contains many other categories besides Kills and Top Tier. It gives you total kills, respawns, drops, perks, open doors, etc. and also includes a ranking system so you'll know instantly if you're playing with noobs or pros in a lobby. CONS: The graphics in Zombies are blocky at times, especially when viewing the lights from the bus. Mourning mode is only available within the same city. I think it would be much more interesting to have 4 by 4 in TRANZIT. It's been a week since the release of Black Ops 2 and I'm feeling full but not entirely satisfied. It has good zombie-only entertainment value, and I recommend you hold off on this game if it drops in price in the future. Keep going with other exciting video games released this fall unless you retire and can't figure out you can't play.
