Functionality Rating: 4/5 Durability Rating: 2/5 Final Rating: 3/5 This item consists of a thin strip of glass encased in a hard plastic sleeve. The case is removable - but I didn't find it necessary. I suppose it would be convenient for you to use a razor that doesn't fit in the slot. The glass broke in two when first used. Thankfully, it's attached to the case in multiple places, so while I don't have a single continuous strip of glass left, the two halves are still there and potentially usable. Although I can't run the razor the full length of the unit now, half the strip still works. I use the Gillette Fusion Power Kit. The Fusion handle design includes a rounded area around the pivot point, so the razor doesn't fit into the device as comfortably as you'd like, and you can't insert it at the recommended angle, but if you tilt it, it's at a very sharp one Melt angles, you can get it and still sharpen it. It works out? Yes, that's right. My blade is sharpened and I am able to shave VERY closely well past my previous throw away date. I shave 7 days a week so Fusion usually lasts 5 or 6 days - on the 7th day I'm struggling to get a close shave. I've been using this device for over 20 days now and I still get a super smooth shave. Completely stubble free. Interestingly, I shave a little lighter now - maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but I feel like the blade glides more smoothly across my face than if it were brand new. Doesn't stick, doesn't pull, doesn't stick. I use Gillette foam and the overall feel is smooth and almost light. I use Razor Saver a few times a week. Simply insert the razor and press it against the glass in a pushing motion (as opposed to the pulling motion used when shaving). All of this happens under running water – and voila! There are other products in this category that will likely work the same way and are definitely more durable. But for me this work is good enough and for the price it's a winner. Recommended for results, not build quality.
