Nooie invested in their packaging and presentation. The device comes in a robust modular cardboard packaging, as you would expect from more expensive electronics. The ABS plastic construction has a matte finish and is fairly solid - a definite step up in build quality over similar webcams, especially at this price point. I would venture to guess that this device will withstand drops and bumps much better than its competitors. Scanning a QR code took me straight to the App Store listing and I was quickly up and running with the Nooie app. The only issue I had with adding the camera was that my phone was incorrectly connected to my 5GHz radio frequency instead of 2.4GHz (as stated in the setup guide). If your phone and camera aren't connected to the same Wi-Fi frequency, they won't pair. It was easy to update the firmware through the application. The camera must always be connected to the network. The included power cord is specially designed to complement the camera's design, but any microUSB connector will work. Power Requirements: 5 volts, 1 amp, or higher (that's pretty much any USB port, including standard computer USB ports). I was impressed with the motion tracking, although it only tracks along the Z axis (panning) and doesn't tilt the track. . The picture quality is 1080p, and the picture quality when viewed remotely (outside the home WiFi) is pretty good. Integrating with Alexa was easy, although I enabled the 'Nooie' skill instead of the 'Tuya Smart' skill as stated on the website. After turning it on and logging into my Nooie account, I added the camera through the Alexa app on my phone and was then able to view the camera remotely through my Alexa TV Cube. In future updates, I would like to see speaker volume and camera exposure controls, more precise motion controls, and an improved UI for accessing past recordings. Currently, SD card entries can only be scrolled using the clunky horizontal scroll control. I am very impressed with Nooie and was surprised at its performance given the low price. Its performance is superior to the more expensive competition. I recommend it if you are looking for a kids camera or a cheap home security camera. Pros - Good image quality (1080p confirmed) - Excellent IR illumination at night - Alexa integration (confirmed) - Compact size - Full 360 degree panning - Free recording option with SD CardCons - App pan/tilt controls not very sensitive - Video recording can only be moved using the horizontal scroll bar - No free cloud storage options
